Tylenol In The News!

Have you seen the latest recommendations from the FDA regarding the use of Tylenol? Check it out! FDA warns about Tylenol .

I have been talking for years about the dangers of Tylenol consumption. I often ask new patients if they have ever driven by the building near the police department here in town on a Saturday morning and seen the parking lot full?

That's the local dialysis clinic. It's standing room only for people who's kidneys have shut down.
Most of these people are waiting for a transplant. There are a lot of people waiting for liver transplants also.

What's the culprit? Alcohol? Bad choices? Viruses?

The culprit most often is what I have heard called 'candy'. Vicodin. A mix of drugs, acetaminophen and hydrocodone, vicodin taken for pain after an injury or dental procedure can quickly turn into a habit that is extremely difficult to quit.

The evil thing is the acetaminophen in the drug takes a hard toll on your liver and kidneys. If you drink alcohol with the drug you can expect the damage to be quadrupled.

Every time you ingest Tylenol or acetaminophen even in acceptable dosage levels you are hurting your liver.

We need our liver and kidneys to filter blood, control blood pressure and get rid of waste. It's not a fun way to live when these organ systems start to malfunction.

My recommendation is to get these drugs out of your life. I want fun healthy people around when I'm 99 years old. I plan on throwing a great party and you need to be there!
