Fly Away Six Year Old Astronaut!

So today a small kid that is the youngest in a strange family held us all spellbound as he took off in a homemade flying saucer. His parents were sequestered with the authorities. His brothers saw him board the craft. When it landed 40 miles and two hours later, he wasn't on board.

This could be any one's kid. I see kids everyday in my chiropractic practice, they tend to want to explore. Kids that stay well adjusted are open and alert and active. I cringed thinking that kid might be up there alone.

How many millions of dollars were spent on this incident for start to finish? All the news media, helicopters, Internet exposure. But this kid was safe at home.

The good news is he is safe. Is there any bad news? What is news these days?

Whatever the popular media gets hold of is more often the news of the day. This one had all the angles. A six year old inside a homemade flying saucer taking off on an unplanned flight. When it landed he was not there. This gave the story the lift it needed to take off. The deflation of this story is that the kid is alive and well at home.

Story over. Kid is safe means no more story. Maybe one little follow-up to explain how and why the kid was safe at home and a threat of someone getting charged for the rescue expense then we will be on to the next fantastic story.

Unless of course the kid was actually captured by aliens who safely deposited him back home while everyone else focused on the strange looking metallic flying mushroom!

Who will get the bill for the National Guard Helicopter? I say let the different news media chip in and pay.

Evidence of extinct species out by the new mall?

I found some intriguing evidence of an extinct species while jogging out on the brand new streets north of the new mall. Is this the real reason they shut it down?

Tylenol In The News!

Have you seen the latest recommendations from the FDA regarding the use of Tylenol? Check it out! FDA warns about Tylenol .

I have been talking for years about the dangers of Tylenol consumption. I often ask new patients if they have ever driven by the building near the police department here in town on a Saturday morning and seen the parking lot full?

That's the local dialysis clinic. It's standing room only for people who's kidneys have shut down.
Most of these people are waiting for a transplant. There are a lot of people waiting for liver transplants also.

What's the culprit? Alcohol? Bad choices? Viruses?

The culprit most often is what I have heard called 'candy'. Vicodin. A mix of drugs, acetaminophen and hydrocodone, vicodin taken for pain after an injury or dental procedure can quickly turn into a habit that is extremely difficult to quit.

The evil thing is the acetaminophen in the drug takes a hard toll on your liver and kidneys. If you drink alcohol with the drug you can expect the damage to be quadrupled.

Every time you ingest Tylenol or acetaminophen even in acceptable dosage levels you are hurting your liver.

We need our liver and kidneys to filter blood, control blood pressure and get rid of waste. It's not a fun way to live when these organ systems start to malfunction.

My recommendation is to get these drugs out of your life. I want fun healthy people around when I'm 99 years old. I plan on throwing a great party and you need to be there!

Twitter? Why not. Give It A Go.

There are things that you would figure might cost you some nominal amount of money. At least a small fee. Does anyone remember a phone call costing a quarter at a pay phone? Ten cents or even a nickle before that?

I dare you to find a pay phone nowadays.

Remember trying to buy or sell a car? Where would you go? The thickest part of the newspaper on a Sunday. The classifieds. Those little ads ran for three days and cost $65 to $75. Now where do you go? Craigslist. How much does that cost? Try free!

Now comes Twitter. What is it? Not really sure. Are there some famous people on there regularly sharing short messages on what they are up too? Yep. Do we really care? Maybe.

The good news; it's free. Check it out. See what you think. It may just be one of those things that comes and goes or it may become a mainstay. Not sure.

All that we can rely on for sure is that change will happen.

Dinosaurs Walked In Elk Grove? I have proof!

WAS THERE SOMETHING WALKING ELK GROVE'S ABANDONED NEW STREETS?

Dinosaurs walked our City?

I know that just a few years ago in the height of the housing boom and the crazy days of the mortgage frenzy there was a pipeline being dug deep along one of the local country roads. All construction was stopped when way down in the ditch some bones were found. If I am correct they were mastodon bones?

The exact location was kept a secret for obvious reasons. I assume an archaeologist from the county took charge of the area and did due diligence to secure the find.

In this same spirit I need to keep my discovery while jogging recently secret. I came across some fantastic evidence that huge dinosaurs did in fact walk our lands. I was in an area that has been long abandoned by the developers who have left in droves. They have left homeowners in the lurch for their unpaid bills also. It seems that on the way out they also left this evidence unprotected and open to the elements.

I will for now just leave it at that.

Sciatica. Nothing is helping? Not even Chiropractic?

Sciatica is a common symptom of a herniated or bulging disc. It can be described as a pins-and-needle sensation running through the lower back, buttocks and legs. A serious case of sciatica may turn into a throbbing, shooting pain in the lower back region and legs. Often simple chiropractic adjustments will alleviate this condition.

But what the pain continues?

Sciatica involves the sciatic nerve, which is the longest nerve group in the human body. When a disc herniation or disc bulge presses on the sciatic nerve, it may cause sciatica symptoms. The pain is typically experienced in one side of the body and could easily be irritated by sneezing, coughing or laughing. The New England Journal Of Medicine states that there is a high correlation between sciatica and job dissatisfaction and depression. It is said that two out of every five individuals may suffer a case of sciatica at some point in their life.Non-surgical spinal decompression therapy and the DRX9000, helps treat back pain associated with herniated or bulging discs, sciatica and degenerative disc disease. Back pain patients who are suffering from sciatica symptoms now have an alternative treatment option with the DRX9000.For a free consultation to consider if you are a candidate for spinal decompression just call our office at 916-686-5222.
